Jim Lind Exhibition: ”City of Exile”
OCT. 25 – DEC. 30, 2010

SCAD Gallery | 30-32 Wyndham St., Central, Hong Kong,

The SCAD exhibitions department presents “City of Exile,” a photographic exhibition by SCAD alumnus Jim Lind (B.F.A., photography, 2010). Lind’s images depict sparsely populated dark and desolate cinematic scapes wrought with destruction and ruin. As a metaphor for human resilience Lind’s figures emerge from these scenes with physical momentum or are captured in warm, theatrical light suggesting hopefulness, adaptation and perseverance.

Exhibition is free and open to the public.
Gallery hours: Monday-Saturday, 10:30 a.m.-7:30 p.m.

SCAD was gracious enough to give me the opportunity to produce a solo show for the opening of their Hong Kong Campus. The gallery opens tonight (+12 hours) featuring eight 40″ x 40″ framed and editioned prints from the “City of Exile” series. While I sure wish I could have made it out to the opening night (it’s still not too late SCAD :-) ) I will just have to make the trip in the very near future. And if you happen to be in Hong Kong in the next two months, feel free to make the visit and let me know how it went.

For those curious about the series, click here or the Process page to view simple video breakdowns of the project, completed in 2009.
