Law of the Land

Business, New Work on December 12th, 2009 1 Comment

Just finished several images for two attorneys Jason and Adam Cerbone. They’re gonna be used for their website which isn’t live yet, but will be soon. It was neat to photograph inside of a courtroom, since not to many people get the option to. I obviously wouldn’t have been able to do so without the finagling of a lawyer. Although we did have to rent 2 off-duty cops just to get access. As soon as I got in to the courthouse it felt very reminiscent of the movie “Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil“. While I’m not to fond of John Cusack movies i did however love Kevin Spacey’s role since he’s a great actor. Read more »

We Are Plus

Business, Internship, Retouching on December 1st, 2009 No Comments

I was able to pick up another internship while in NYC through a connection. I’m working as the junior retoucher at We Are Plus in Chelsea. They specialize in company branding through various media including experimental media, and do a pretty awesome job at it. It’s a great environment with an especially young design team. Specifically I’m working on retouching stills from a 2 1/2 minute spot for M.A.C. Cosmetics that’s based on four certain colors which will mark their spring lineup. Read more »

Freelance Portfolio Mag

Magazine on November 29th, 2009 No Comments

Check out this magazine from Welch Publishing here. I was featured in a spread of the Premier Issue but they are surrounded by much more spectacular work from artists all over the world. The newest edition was released a few days ago and it is definitely worth looking at. The mag also accepts entries, which is a good way to get your work out there. As we all know, any exposure is good exposure.

The Big Apple

Internship, Travel on November 23rd, 2009 3 Comments

Started my first day as Annie Leibovitz’s new intern. As I expected, it was a great experience and everyone who works at the studio is fantastic. While I’ve only been there one day it seems like they’ll have a lot of work for me and the other interns. Cataloging all of her new and old work from Rolling Stone, NY Times, Vanity Fair, Vogue, along with others will be enough work in itself but then there’s visual research and organizing the studio. Doritos SuperBowl Ad

Fun, Links, Video on November 9th, 2009 1 Comment

The “strangeness” must run in the family. Here’s the latest “creation” from my brother Josh and his talented (and oddly unique) production company, the DandyDwarves out in L.A. While it hasn’t aired at the Superbowl just yet (for obvious reasons), I still have high hopes and even higher expectations for this entry into the Doritos “Crash the SuperBowl” competition. They made it into the top 5 last year and I would like to see a repeat this year as they deserve it. The $5 million in prize money is neat too… if you’re into that kind of thing. Read more »

4 Nights of Halloween

Friends, Fun, School on November 1st, 2009 2 Comments

People here in Savannah are pretty dedicated to the Holiday Festivities. Most likely it just gives them a reason to dress up like fools and embarrass themselves. Either way I am quite certain that this was the best Halloween by far. I think the pictures of my friends and I make it quite apparent. Enjoy… Read more »

Trick-or-Treat

Fun, Retouching on October 31st, 2009 No Comments

I’m feeling festive for the holidays so here’s an image of a “dollar store” setup I did last year. This is a test shot that I edited later, however the final was captured in those fandangled large format cameras. I love shooting 4×5 slide film because it puts the skill back into shooting.

Time to O.D. on Halloween candy…

Annie Leibovitz Internship

Business, Internship on October 26th, 2009 20 Comments

I wanted to wait until I was positive that I would be interning at Annie Leibovitz’s studio before I posted this. Well, it seems as though I will be in the Big Apple for my winter break working under one of the greatest minds in contemporary photography. Although she has been in the news recently for her financial fiasco it is undeniable the genius behind the images she and her team creates. As an intern I will be working with her archivist as well as conducting visual research for upcoming shoots. I already had the chance to visit her studio early September and it was located in a very beautiful street within Greenwich Village. Read more »
